BUCHI Strengthens Sustainability Commitment with My Green Lab® ACT® Ecolabel Certification

Flawil, Switzerland – February 12th 2025 – BÜCHI Labortechnik AG, a global leader in laboratory solutions, proudly announces that its Lyovapor™ L-250 and Rotavapor^® R-80 have received the ACT Ecolabel certification. This certification, issued by My Green Lab^® and verified by a third party, assesses the environmental impact of laboratory products in key areas, including manufacturing, energy and water consumption, packaging, end-of-life disposal, and innovation. 

The ACT Ecolabel, which stands for Accountability, Consistency, and Transparency, is the most comprehensive third-party verification for sustainability in laboratory equipment. By achieving this certification, BUCHI provides scientists and procurement professionals with transparent, comparable data to support sustainable purchasing decisions. The final score is a sum of all evaluated parameters, meaning that a lower score indicates a reduced environmental impact of a product in the current version of the ACT Standard.  

The Lyovapor™ L-250 scored an average of 36 and features the EcoStream™ technology, which significantly lowers the environmental impact of freeze-drying processes. The Rotavapor^® R-80 achieved a score of 40.7. It is designed with an optimized 1 L bath, reducing energy consumption while maintaining efficiency for laboratory applications. 

The ACT Ecolabel certification highlights BUCHI’s dedication to product sustainability and aligns with the company’s broader environmental initiatives, such as installing solar panels and implementing ISO 9001/14001 certification.
