Kjeldahl Consumables: A one-stop solution
BUCHI offers a range of catalysts with different compositions in practical tablet form. In addition to our classic method-compliant Missouri catalyst based on copper sulphate, we offer the Titanium variant, a fast catalyst that is suitable for urgent digestions thanks to the addition of titanium dioxide. Both variants are also available in smaller portions for micro-Kjeldahl digestions. If an environmentally friendly digestion is preferred, our ECO version with a very low copper content and no other heavy metal additives is the ideal choice. Foaming samples are best countered with our Antifoam tablets, which reliably prevent the sample from foaming during digestion.

Sticky and pasty samples tend to stick to the glass wall and are difficult to transfer quantitatively into the sample glass. Our weighing boats made of nitrogen-free paper help here. After weighing into the weighing boat, it is placed in the sample glass together with the sample. During digestion, it dissolves without leaving any residue. A quick and clean solution!
Another important component is boric acid, which captures and binds the distilled ammonia nitrogen. For low nitrogen contents, a 2% boric acid is suitable as a receiving solution, higher nitrogen contents often require a 4% boric acid to safely bind the distilled ammonia. Both variants are available from us as ready-to-use solutions. This saves you the time-consuming preparation of boric acid and adjustment to a specific pH value. Our boric acid solutions are reliably adjusted to a pH value of pH 4.65 +/- 0.15. For automated colorimetric titration, our boric acid is already mixed with the correct amount of indicator (Sher or bromocresol green/methly red), so that manual addition is also no longer necessary. Our boric acid is also available in bulk packaging, with either four or eight 5-liter canisters, at an discounted price.

We offer two high-quality buffer solutions (pH 4 and pH 7) for the daily calibration of the pH electrode during potentiometric titration. These are supplied in special containers that allow the economical dosing of a fresh portion of the respective buffer solution into an integrated measuring chamber of the container, in which the measurement can be carried out directly. This ensures that you always calibrate with a fresh, uncontaminated buffer solution.
If a visual indication of the endpoint is needed for manual titration, a suitable indicator must be added. Our ready-to-use mixed indicator according to Sher is suitable here.
We offer all of this in the usual BUCHI quality, quickly available and reliable to use. This gives you the perfect conditions for optimum results. You are welcome to test our materials without obligation. Request your free sample pack of your choice today.
