Technical Note on Blockages at Speed­Extractor

Pressurized solvent extraction (PSE) using the SpeedExtractor E-916 / E-914 is an efficient way to extract analytes from various solid or semi-solid matrices at elevated temperatures and pressures. The SpeedExtractor contains capillaries, enabling low solvent consumption. It is possible that these capillaries can get blocked during the extraction process. These blockages can be caused by incorrect sample preparation, inappropriate extraction parameters, inappropriate instrument configuration,etc. This Technical Note will give suggestions for avoiding, handling and resolving blockages successfully.
