Biodegradable Polymer in Agriculture Soil
UniversalExtractor E-800: Extraction of biodegradable polymers from agriculture soil
A procedure for the extraction of the biodegradable polymers poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) and polylactic acid (PLA) used in mulch films from agricultural soils is introduced. The sample was extracted with the UniversalExtractor E-800 using the Soxhlet method. The extraction allows for an accurate quantification of PBAT and PLA down to approx. 2 mg PBAT and 0.5 mg PLA per 11 g of dry soil.
