Biodegradable Polymers from Industrial Compost
UniversalExtractor E-800: Extraction of biodegradable polymers from industrial compost
A procedure for the extraction of biodegradable polymers from industrial compost is introduced. Hereby, compost samples were spiked with poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) and extracted with the UniversalExtractor E-800 using the Soxhlet method. The extraction of PBAT allows for a reliable and accurate quantification down to approximately 2 mg PBAT per 11 g of dry compost.
